Installer Menu Options i-on RangePage 104than the Mains Fail Delay period the control unit will activate any AC Fail outputs andreport a mains fail to the ARC. If the mains failures do not overlap, and are bothindividually shorter than the Mains Fail Delay period then the control unit logs the eventsand activates any General Fault outputs, but will not send a report to the ARC.If the external PSU is allocated to a partition, and mains power at the external PSU is offfor longer than the Mains Fail Delay period, then the control unit’s report to the ARC canshow that the partition experienced a mains fail. This report is additional to any report thecontrol unit might send concerning a mains fail at the control unit. The control unit provides different methods of reporting to the ARC. For mains failreporting each method differs in the detail that it can send: SIA/CID reports can indicate mains failure in individual partitions. Fast Format reports cannot show details of mains failure in partitions, only mainsfailure as a system-wide fault. This means that although the system can report thata mains failure occurred, it cannot show whether the failure was in the control unitor in an external PSU. Plug-by outputs cannot show details of individual partitions for a mains failure. LikeFast Format, they can only report mains failure as a system event.Battery 2160This option can enable or disable alert reporting on the second backup battery. Theoptions are:EnabledThe control unit will start an alert if battery 2 is missing or low voltage.DisabledThe control unit will ignore the presence or absence of battery 2.Set Time and DateThis option lets you set the control unit’s internal clock to the correct time and date. Youwill have to re-program the date and time if the control unit loses power for an extendedtime and the battery is exhausted.Note: The internal clock adjusts itself for daylight saving in Spring and Autumn.Panel Tamper ReturnThis option allows you to select either CC or FSL for the Tamper Return (TR) terminal onthe control unit PCB. By default the terminal is closed circuit. If you select FSL then youshould insert a 2k2 resistor in series with the tamper return wire from the sounder.CommunicationsNote: If you have connected a plug-by communicator then use the Outputs - Plug-byOutputs menu to program the plug-by pins to control the communicator. The Communications option in the Installer Menu contains all the options needed toprogram how the control unit will communicate alarms. The menu sub-options appear onlyif a communications module is fitted (except for the i-on30EXD and i-on50EXD). Note thatthe i-on16 uses the i-sd01 plug-on module. but not the i-sd02, i-dig02 or i-gsm02.Within the Communications option, the main menu items deal with the following areas:
