This includes any 762s, 768s or WAMs.Wired KeypadsAdding Wired Keypads30 50 160To add a wired keypad to the bus on an i-onEX control unit use the Installer Menu optionDetectors/Devices – Address Bus Device.When you add a wired keypad the control unit gives the keypad the next free devicenumber.If the keypad you are adding already has a bus device number stored within it, from aprevious installation, then this will cause problems in the new installation. Always ensurethat you default the bus device address before adding it to the bus. You can do this eithermanually or by using the option Detectors/Devices – Wired Keypads – Delete Keypad.(See below.)16 40To add a wired keypad to the bus of an i-on16 or i-on40, first remove all power from thecontrol unit, both mains and battery. Make sure the address link on the new keypad is notfitted in the same position as any of the address links on keypads already connected to thecontrol unit. Connect the new keypad and then apply power to the system.Editing Wired KeypadsTo program a wired keypad use the Detectors/Devices – Wired Keypads – Edit Keypadoption.When you enter the Edit Keypad option the keypad display shows the first item in a list ofthe wired keypads known to the control unit. Press or to scroll up or down the list. Ifyou wish to find out where a keypad is located then press “*”. The displayed keypad willsound a continuous tone. Press “#” to stop the tone.When the Wired Keypad you wish to edit appears press to select it.NameThe control unit allows you to give each wired keypad a 12 character name. The controlunit displays the name you give to the keypad when it is reporting faults or other events,making it easier to locate the affected device.Partitions (Assigning Wired Keypads To)30 40 50 160The control unit allows you to assign keypads to any of the partitions.When delivered from the factory, or if you restore the control unit to factory settings, thenall keypads belong to partition 1.Once you have assigned a keypad to a partition then that keypad will display messagesand give tones for the assigned partition(s).Note: If you do not assign a keypad to a partition (and there is no loudspeaker assigned tothe partition) then users of that partition will not be able to hear entry/exit tones andalerts for the partition.
