Details about these features are given below.Three party serviceThree Party Service is a DPNSS 1 feature for Business Communications Manager that is similar tothe Business Communications Manager Conference feature.The Three Party Service allows a user, usually an operator, to establish a three-party conference bycalling two other parties from one telephone. Once the connection is made, the controlling partycan hang up, leaving the other two connected. The controlling party can even put one party onhold, and talk to the other party.Note: Business Communications Manager does not support Hold over the DPNSS link itself. Thismeans that the conferenced party on the distance end of the network cannot place a Three PartyService call on Hold.This feature is basically designed to allow operators to assist in the connection of calls from onemain location.Making a conference callTo initiate or disconnect from a conference call on a Business Communications Manager systemover DPNSS 1, use the procedure described in the Business Communications Manager FeatureProgramming Telephone Guide.Note: Three Party Service is supported on 7000 digital phones, but in a receive-only fashion.These telephone types cannot initiate Three Party Service. For more information about thesetelephone types, see the Nortel Networks Digital Phone 7000 User Card.Using the diversion featureDiversion is a DPNSS 1 feature for Business Communications Manager that allows users toforward their calls to a third party on the DPNSS 1 network. This feature is similar to call forwardon Business Communications Manager, but takes advantage of the broader capabilities of DPNSS.There are five variations of Diversion: Call Diversion Immediate, Call Diversion On Busy, CallDiversion On No Reply, Bypass Call Diversion, and Follow-me Diversion. These variations aredescribed below:• Diversion Immediate diverts all calls to an alternate telephone. This function is programmedby the user at their telephone.• Diversion On Busy diverts all calls to an alternate telephone when a telephone is busy. Thisfeature is programmed in the Unified Manager.
