2.6 Selecting Peripheral Devices2.6.1 Recommended Power Supply2-202.6 Selecting Peripheral Devices2.6.1 Recommended Power SupplyThe same input power supply is used for both the main circuit power and control power. Usean input power supply that meets the following conditions.• A 24-VDC power supply must be used.• The power supply must have double or reinforced insulation and must also be certified forsafety standards.• The power supply must not output more than 50 A.• Protective measures must be implemented for external branch circuits according to the NEC(National Electrical Code) or other local laws or ordinances.Selection TableThe recommended Power Supply is given in the following table.2.6.2 Molded-case Circuit Breakers and Fuse CapacityUse a molded-case circuit breaker and fuse to protect the power supply line. They protect thepower line by shutting OFF the circuit when overcurrent is detected. Select molded-case circuitbreakers and fuses that have the following breaking characteristics.Breaking Characteristics (25°C):• Power must not be shut OFF even if the instantaneous maximum current flows to the SERVOPACKfor 5 s or longer.• Does not cut off at the inrush current value of the power supply.Note: Connect the molded-case circuit breakers and fuses before the isolated 24-VDC power supply.*1. This is the value for the maximum instantaneous load.*2. This is the value when the recommended power supply is used.2.6.3 SERVOPACK Power Supply and Servomotor PowerCable WiresThis section provides specifications and precautions for making your own cables for use between theSERVOPACK and the power supply and between the SERVOPACK and the Servomotor.Input Power Supply Order Number Manufacturer24 VDC HWS300-24 TDK-Lambda CorporationInputPowerSupplyMaximum Appli-cable MotorCapacity [kW]SERVOPACKModelPower SupplyCapacity perSERVOPACK[W]*1Input Current Capacity InrushCurrent[A0-p]*2Rated VoltageContinuousRating [A]InstantaneousMaximum [A]Fuse[V]Molded-case Cir-cuit Breaker [V]24 VDC 0.05 SGPSS-3R1C 215 3.3 11.5 6 250 2401. If you do not use the recommended Power Supply Input Cables and Servomotor PowerCables, use the wire sizes in the following table.2. Use copper wires with a rated temperature of 80° or higher.3. Use copper wires with a rated withstand voltage of 100 V or higher.4. Use a power supply input cable with a maximum length of 3 m and a Servomotor power cablewith a maximum length of 10 m.Terminal Symbols Wire SizesWires for Input Power Supply P, N, FG AWG20 (0.52 mm 2 ) min.Servomotor Power Cable U, V, W AWG20 (0.52 mm 2 ) min.Important
