4.1 Wiring Precautions4.1.2 Countermeasures against Noise4-44.1.2 Countermeasures against NoiseThe SERVOPACK uses microprocessors. Therefore, it may be affected by switching noise fromperipheral devices. To prevent the noise from the SERVOPACK or the peripheral devices from causing malfunc-tions of any devices, take the following countermeasures against noise as required.• Install the input reference device and Noise Filter as close to the SERVOPACK as possible.• Always install a Surge Absorber for relays, solenoids, and Magnetic Contactor coils.• Do not bundle Power Supply Input Cables or Servomotor Power Cables together with I/OSignal Cables or Encoder Cables or run them through the same duct. If you do not place theabove cables in separate ducts, separate them by at least 30 cm.• Do not share the power supply with an electric welder or electrical discharge machine. If theSERVOPACK is placed near a high-frequency generator, install a Noise Filter before the iso-lated 24-V power supply even if the same power supply is not shared with the high-frequencygenerator. Refer to the following section for information on connecting Noise Filters.Noise Filters on page 4-4• Implement suitable grounding measures. Refer to the following section for information ongrounding measures.4.1.3 Grounding on page 4-6Noise FiltersYou must attach Noise Filters in appropriate places to protect the SERVOPACK from theadverse effects of noise. The following is an example of wiring for countermeasures against noise.*1. For the ground wire, use a wire with a thickness of at least 2.0 mm 2 (preferably, flat braided copper wire).*2. Whenever possible, use twisted-pair wires to wire all connections marked with .• The SERVOPACK is designed as an industrial device. It therefore provides no measures to pre-vent radio interference. The SERVOPACK uses high-speed switching elements in the main circuit. Therefore peripheraldevices may be affected by switching noise. If the equipment is to be used near private housesor if radio interference is a problem, take countermeasures against noise.ImportantSERVOPACK1234UVWFGFGM(FG)ENC231NPInsulated AC/DC converterfor main circuit power supplyOperation relay sequenceUser signal generatorsAC powersupplyNoise Filter*3External ground: Use a dedicated ground.(Grounding plate)*1AC/DCconverter*2*2*22.0 mm2min.2.0 mm2 min.2.0 mm 2 min. 2.0 mm 2 min.Noise Filter*3FGCN2CN3 CN4*4
