LSM 510 OPERATION IN EXPERT MODELSM 510 META Switching on the System Carl Zeiss03/06 B 45-0021 e 4-15Scan New Images Clicking on this button activates the complete LSM hardware (on-line mode).Please note that the Scan New Images button must beactivated before setting up the Routine Mode or the ExpertMode. Otherwise, the hardware can not be controlled bythe LSM 5 software.Use Existing Images This item allows you to process and analyze previously acquiredimages with the LSM 5 software. In this mode, control of thehardware (laser module ...) is not possible (off-line mode).Start Routine Mode Click on this button if you want to work with pre-configured systemsettings (typical applications).Start Expert Mode Use of this mode requires to be thoroughly familiar with the exactmicroscope procedures and interrelations.In the Expert mode you need to set all parameters andfunctions upon your own decision; this mode thereforeprovides you with the greatest flexibility of operation. It isalso possible, however, to call up stored configurations andto modify the parameters / settings if necessary.After the start of the Expert Mode or theRoutine Mode, instrument initialization isperformed and can be monitored in theInitialization window and interrupted with a clickon the Cancel button, if required.Depending on the selected option (Scan NewImages or Use existing Images), initialization isperformed in the offline or online mode.Existing images can only be loaded andprocessed in the Expert Mode.If you want to change from the ExpertMode to the Routine Mode and viceversa, close all the windows first.Fig. 4-5 OFF LINE Initialization window
