Make surethat only the four outer loops touch the fan assembly.4. Place one of the nut-retainer brackets behind the outer flange on oneside of the fan assembly, as shown in Figure 8-28. Secure two of thescrews to the nut-retainer bracket.5. Place the other nut-retainer bracket behind the outer flange on theother side of the fan assembly. Secure the remaining two screws tothe nut-retainer bracket (Figure 8-28). Make sure that the fan-wireconnector is free from the grill and that it can reach the powerconnector on the XC1000 chassis.6. Tighten all four screws completely.7. Connect the fan-wire connector to the power connector on the XC1000chassis. The connectors are keyed to fit properly; do not force theconnection.8. Make sure that the fan begins to spin and that the air flow is directedinward at the front of the XC1000.9. Make sure that the XC1000 alarms turn off. If alarm LEDs are stilllit, contact the Octel Communications Technical Assistance Center.10.
