DOS 5.0 or higher.15.4 ENABLE THE ENGINEERING BITPerform the following steps to enable the engineering bit:1. Call the Octel National Response Center (for national accounts) or theOctel Technical Assistance Center to have the engineering bit turnedon. Be prepared to provide the pilot number of the hunt groupassigned to the XC1000.2. Wait for confirmation from the Octel National Response Center (fornational accounts) or the Octel Technical Assistance Center that theengineering bit has been enabled.15.5 DETERMINE THE CURRENT BAUD RATE FORSYSTEM MANAGER TERMINAL (SMT)Determine the current XC1000 SMT baud rate before beginning an onlineupgrade so that the PC-to-XC1000 connection can be set up correctly. If the SMT is connected to the SMT-allocated (J50) port, the baud rateis set to 9600.
