DOS 5.0 or newer. SoftKlone MIRROR III 2.5 or newer.Octel recommends that you order the DOS and MIRROR software froman independent PC dealer or distributor at the same time that youorder the PC.17.4 ENABLE THE ENGINEERING BIT AND DISABLE ALLPORTSEnable the engineering bit and disable all ports as follows:1. Call the Octel TAC to have the engineering bit turned on. Be preparedto provide the pilot number of the hunt group assigned to the XC1000.Wait for confirmation that the engineering bit has been enabled.2. With the XC1000 on line and at the SMT Main Menu, connect theprinter to the back of the SMT connected to the XC1000. Turn onprinter power.3. Select menu 4 and print all current port configurations. To print,select each menu and press Print Pg on a HP 700/43 terminal or theShift and Print keys on the Wyse 50 terminal.4. Do not attempt to disable ports unless the Octel TAC has turned onthe engineering bit.Set all port parameters to N. Press the Send key to save the newinput and return to the SMT Main Menu.17.5 CALCULATE USER-RECORD AVAILABILITYFor FCP conversions from Release 1.55 only, extra user records on theXC1000 are required for a successful FCP conversion.Do not begin an FCP conversion if the user-recordavailability does not meet the requirements.
