At the Enter “1” – allow lines to clear, “2” immediate shutdown,“Break” – Cancel: prompt, type 1 and then press the Enter key toallow lines to clear before shutdown. After the shutdown, the XC1000reboots into the new software, Release 3.02.15.14 DISABLE THE ENGINEERING BITCall the Octel National Response Center (for national accounts) or the OctelTechnical Assistance Center to have the engineering bit turned off.15.15 MAKE SOFTWARE AND PHRASE AREASREDUNDANTRelease 3.0 introduced multiple software areas to the XC1000 to allow anupgrade to be performed online and to allow software Release 3.02 to berun on a trial basis, with the option of returning to the previous release.The XC1000 should now be running at software Release 3.02,with Release3.0 in the nonboot area. Octel recommends that the XC1000 be run byalternating software in areas A and B for approximately 1 week to be surethat the XC1000 is running smoothly.If problems arise with software Release 3.02, call yourOctel Service Representative immediately. Do not attemptto correct the problem(s) yourself.Caution!If the XC1000 is running smoothly with software Release 3.02, perform thefollowing steps to make software areas redundant:1. Call the Octel National Response Center (for national accounts) or theOctel Technical Assistance Center to have the service bit turned on.Be prepared to provide the pilot number of the hunt group assigned tothe XC1000.2.
