System-Drive 0 Backup to Drive 2.13.7 UPGRADE THE HARDWAREPerform the following steps to upgrade the XC1000 logic cards andEPROMs to the appropriate revision levels. If EPROMs must be replaced, have the EPROM puller on hand. Set aside the old EPROMs until theXC1000 is upgraded successfully, in case they must be reinstalled. When installing a logic card, make sure that even pressureis applied to the top and bottom edges of the card to avoidbending or damaging the backplane pins. If the pins andthe card do not have a secure connection, XC1000functionality could be impaired.Caution!1. Check the CPU card. If the CPU does not match the requirementslisted in section 13.2, replace the CPU with the appropriate hardwarefrom the upgrade kit. Make sure the resistor packs are in the correctlocation on the CPU card, as follows:a. Locate the resistor packs at locations RP10, RP19, and RP20.These packs are located around U19F, at the upper right of theback of the card, as shown in Figure 13-7. Check that theseresistor packs are in the correct location for the type of XC1000in which it is used. If the XC1000 uses standby redundancy, the resistor packs should be in the RP10B, RP19B, and RP20Bsockets, on the side labeled REDUNDANT TERMINATION.Otherwise, the packs should be in the RP10A, RP19A, andRP20A sockets, on the side labeled NORMAL TERMINATION.If the packs are in the correct position, proceed to step 2.Otherwise, continue with steps b and c.b. Remove the resistor packs from the current position. Thesepacks pull out of the sockets in the C20 CPU card. If theresistor pack cannot be removed by hand, use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove it gently.SECTION 13.6 – 13.7
