Chapter 4: Connecting External Equipment (Optional)57Using an Optional DPX3-ENVHUB4 Sensor HubA Raritan DPX3-ENVHUB4 sensor hub is physically and functionallysimilar to the DPX-ENVHUB4 sensor hub, which increases the number ofsensor ports for the PX3TS, except for the following differences: All ports on the DPX3-ENVHUB4 sensor hub are RJ-45 instead ofRJ-12 as the DPX-ENVHUB4 sensor hub. The DPX3-ENVHUB4 sensor hub supports all Raritan environmentalsensor packages, including DPX, DPX2, DPX3 and DX sensorpackages.To connect diverse types of sensor packages to this sensor hub, youmust follow the combinations shown in the section titledMixing DiverseSensor Types (on page 58).To connect DPX3 sensor packages via the DPX3-ENVHUB4 hub:1. Connect the DPX3-ENVHUB4 sensor hub to the PX3TS using astandard network patch cable (CAT5e or higher).a. Plug one end of the cable into the IN port (Port 1) of the hub.b. Plug the other end of the cable into the RJ-45 SENSOR port ofthe PX3TS.2. Connect the Raritan sensor packages to any of the four OUT ports onthe hub.
