4-53GBEMU04041CHECKING BATTERY(for Electric start models)WARNING@Battery electrolytic fluid is dangerous; itcontains sulfuric acid and therefore ispoisonous and highly caustic.Always follow these preventive mea-sures: Avoid bodily contact with electrolyticfluid as it can cause severe burns orpermanent eye injury. Wear protective eye gear when han-dling or working near batteries.Antidote (EXTERNAL): SKIN - Flush with water. EYES - Flush with water for 15 minutesand get immediate medical attention.Antidote (INTERNAL): Drink large quantities of water or milkfollowed by milk of magnesia, beatenegg, or vegetable oil. Get immediatemedical attention.Batteries also generate explosive hydro-gen gas; therefore, you should alwaysfollow these preventive measures: Charge batteries in a well-ventilatedarea. Keep batteries away from fire, sparks,or open flames (e.g., welding equip-ment, lighted cigarettes, etc.). DO NOT SMOKE when charging orhandling batteries. KEEP BATTERIES AND ELECTRO-LYTIC FLUID OUT OF REACH OF CHIL-DREN.@
