4-59GBConnecting an accessory battery (option)1) Remove the accessory battery couplercover from the outboard motor.2) Connect the accessory battery coupler 1to the coupler of the accessory batterylead (option).Use a connecting cable between the (-) ter-minals of the starting battery and accessorybattery. See the illustrations of the wiringconnections. This cable must be made fromwire thicker than the starting batterycable 4.WARNING@Use of smaller wire could lead to a fire.@2 Battery for starting3 Battery for accessories4 Large red lead for starting battery5 Small red lead for accessory battery charging(optional part)6 Large black lead7 Negative connecting cable (optional part)8 Power for accessoriesNOTE:@If a battery selector switch is desired, con-sult your YAMAHA dealer about correct wir-ing.@EMU01280Disconnecting the BatteryDisconnect the BLACK lead from the NEGA-TIVE (-) terminal first. Then disconnect theRED lead from the POSITIVE (+) terminal.EMU00408CHECKING BOLTS AND NUTS1) Check that bolts securing the cylinderhead and engine and the nut securingthe flywheel are tightened with theirspecified tightening torque.2) Check the tightening torque of otherbolts and nuts.
