Forexample:configure>service# vpls service-id sap sap-id managed-vlan-list [no] rangevlan-range5.9.2 Enabling and Disabling VPLS EntitiesYou can administratively enable and disable the following VPLS without deleting theservice parameters.• v-VPLS or m-VPLS service.• SAPS configured for the m-VPLS or a v-VPLS instance.• STP instance configured in m-VPLS or an m-VPLS SAPWhen a VPLS is disabled, all associated user VPLS services are also disabled (toprevent loops). If this is not desired, first un-manage the user’s VPLS service byremoving them from the managed-vlan-list.The shutdown command administratively enables or disables the following m-VPLSor v-VPLS entities:• The no form of the shutdown command puts an entity into the administrativelyenabled state.• The shutdown form of the command administratively disables an entity.Administratively downing an entity changes the operational state of the entity todown and the operational state of any entities contained within theadministratively down entity. Downing an entity does not change, reset, or removeany configuration settings or statistics.Unlike other commands and parameters where the default state will not be indicatedin the configuration file, shutdown and no shutdown are always indicated in systemgenerated configuration files.configure service vpls <service-id> [no] shutdown
