Selecting the VFR Softkey again restores the previous identification code.The pre-programmed VFR Code is set at the factory to 1200. If a VFR code change is required, contact aGarmin-authorized service center for configuration.Figure 4-20 VFR CodeVFR CodeIDENT FUNCTIONNOTE: In Standby Mode, the Ident Softkey is inoperative.Selecting the Ident Softkey sends a distinct identity indication to Air Traffic Control (ATC). The indicationdistinguishes the identing transponder from all the others on the air traffic controller’s screen. The Ident Softkeyappears on all levels of transponder softkeys. When the Ident Softkey is selected, a green Ident indication isdisplayed in the mode field of the Transponder Data Box for a duration of 18 seconds.After the Ident Softkey is selected while in Mode or Code Selection, the system reverts to the top-levelsoftkeys.
