When the flight plan includesprogrammed descent segments, pathways are displayed along the descent path provided that the selectedaltitude is lower than the programmed altitude. When an approach providing vertical guidance is activated, Pathways are shown level at the selectedaltitude up to the point along the final approach course where the altitude intercepts the extended verticaldescent path, glidepath, or glideslope. From the vertical path descent, glidepath, or glideslope interceptpoint, the pathways are shown inbound to the Missed Approach Point (MAP) along the published lateraland vertical descent path, or at the selected altitude, whichever is lower.During an ILS approach, the initial approach segment is displayed in magenta at the segment altitudesif GPS is selected as the navigation source on the CDI. When switching to localizer inbound with LOCselected as the navigation source on the CDI, pathways are displayed in green along the localizer and glideslope.VOR, LOC BC, and ADF approach segments that are approved to be flown using GPS are displayed inmagenta boxes. Segments that are flown using other than GPS or ILS, such as heading legs or VOR finalapproach courses are not displayed.Figure 8-4 SVT Pathways, Enroute and DescentClimbs NOTdisplayedby pathwayTODProgrammed descentdisplayed by pathwaySelected Altitudeset for DepartureSelected Altitudeset for EnrouteSelected Altitude or Programmed Altitude(whichever is higher)Selected Altitudefor Step DownNon-programmed descents NOT displayed by pathway
