The color indicates the current navigationsource, magenta for GPS and green for VOR and LOC. The full scale limits for the CDI are defined by an GPS-derived distance when coupled to the GPS. If the CDI exceeds the maximum deviation on the scale (two dots)while navigating with GPS, the crosstrack error (XTK) is displayed below the white aircraft symbol. Whennavigating using a VOR or localizer (LOC), the CDI uses the same angular deviation as a mechanical CDI.Figure 2-20 Navigation SourcesChanging navigation sources:1) Press the CDI Softkey to change from GPS to VOR1 or LOC1. This places the cyan tuning box over the NAV1standby frequency in the upper left corner of the PFD.2) Press the CDI Softkey again to change from VOR1 or LOC1 to VOR2 or LOC2.
