Minor tick marks are at intervals of 20feet. The indicated altitude is displayed inside the black pointer. The Selected Altitude is displayed above the Altimeter in the box indicated by a selection bug symbol. A bugcorresponding to this altitude is shown on the tape. If the Selected Altitude exceeds the range shown on thetape, the bug appears at the upper or lower edge of the tape. When the metric value is selected it is displayedin a separate box below the Selected Altitude.A magenta Altitude Trend Vector extends up or down the left of the altitude tape, with the end resting at theapproximate altitude to be reached in six seconds at the current vertical speed. The trend vector is not shownif altitude remains constant or if data needed for calculation is not available due to a system failure.Setting the Selected Altitude:Turn the ALT Knob to set the Selected Altitude. Turn the large knob for 1000-ft increments, small knob for 100-ft increments. If set to Metric mode, the large knob adjusts the Selected Altitude in 500-meter increments; thesmall knob adjusts the Selected Altitude in 50-meter increments..If a Minimum Descent Altitude/Decision Height (MDA/DH) value has been set, this altitude is also available forthe Selected Altitude while turning the ALT Knob.SelectedAltitude(Meters)IndicatedAltitude(Meters)BarometricSetting Box(Hectopascals)SelectedAltitude BugAltitude TrendVectorMDA/DH AltitudeBugBarometric SettingFigure 2-9 AltimeterAltitudes can also be displayed in meters as an overlay. Note that the altitude tape does not change scale.Displaying the metric altitude overlay:1) Press the PFD Opt Softkey to display the second-level softkeys.2) Press the ALT Units Softkey.3) Press the Meters Softkey to turn on metric altitude readouts.4) Press the Back Softkey twice to return to the top-level softkeys.
