Operation Manual – HWPingH3C S3100 Series Ethernet Switches Chapter 1 HWPing Configuration1-3Test parameter DescriptionSource interface(source-interface)z For DHCP test, you must specify a sourceinterface, which will be used by HWPingclient to send DHCP requests. If no sourceinterface is specified for a DHCP test, the testwill not succeed.z After a source interface is specified, HWPingclient uses this source interface to sendDHCP requests during a DHCP test.z The IP address of the specified sourceinterface will be used as the source IPaddress of DHCP requests.Source address (source-ip)For HWPing tests other than DHCP test, youcan specify a source IP address for test packets, which will be used by the server as thedestination address of response packets.Source port (source-port)For HWPing tests other than ICMP, DHCP andDNS, you can specify a source port number fortest packets, which will be used by the server asthe destination port number of responsepackets.Test type (test-type)z You can use HWPing to test a variety ofprotocols, see Table 1-1 for details.z To perform a type of test, you must firstcreate a test group of this type. One testgroup can be of only one HWPing test type.z If you modify the test type of a test groupusing the test-type command, the parametersettings, test results, and history records ofthe original test type will be all cleared.Number of probes per test(count)z For tests except jitter test, only one testpacket is sent in a probe. In a jitter test, youcan use the jitter-packetnum command toset the number of packets to be sent in aprobe.Packet size (datasize)z For ICMP/UDP/jitter test, you can configurethe size of test packets.z For ICMP test, the ICMP packet size refers tothe length of ECHO-REQUEST packets(excluding IP and ICMP headers)Maximum number of historyrecords that can be saved(history-records)This parameter is used to specify the maximumnumber of history records that can be saved in atest group. When the number of saved historyrecords exceeds the maximum number,HWPing discards some earliest records.Automatic test interval(frequency)This parameter is used to set the interval atwhich the HWPing client periodically performsthe same test automatically.Probe timeout time (timeout)z The probe timeout timer is started after theHWPing client sends out a test packet.z This parameter is in seconds.
