6-5FUEL Fuel systemChecking the pressure regulator1. To connect the special service tool a,see “Measuring the fuel pressure” (6-4)step 1–step 3.2. Disconnect the pressure regulator hoseb, and then connect the special servicetool c to the pressure regulator d.3. Clog the pressure regulator hose endduring the measurement.4. Start the engine and let it idle.WARNING! Make sure that the drainscrew e is tightened securely, beforestarting the engine.5. Check that the fuel pressure is reducedwhen vacuum pressure is applied to thepressure regulator. If the fuel pressure isnot reduced, replace the pressure regu-lator.6. Turn the engine start switch to “OFF.”7. Disconnect the special service tool c,and then connect the pressure regulatorhose b.8.
