NOTICE: If there is anexcessive quantity of metal particleson the magnetic gear oil drain screwb, this can indicate lower unitproblem.TIP:If a magnetic gear oil drain screw isequipped, remove all metal particles from thescrew before installing it.4. Remove the gear oil check screw d andgasket c to allow the oil to draincompletely. NOTICE: Check the usedoil after it has been drained. If the oilis milky, water is getting into the gearcase which can cause gear damage.5. Insert the gear oil pump into the drainhole and slowly fill with gear oil until oilflows out of the check hole and no airbubbles are visible.6. Install new gaskets c and the gear oilcheck screw d, quickly install the gearoil drain screw b, and then tighten themto the specified torque.Checking the gear shift operation1. Check that the gear shift operatessmoothly when shifting it from N positionto F or R. Adjust the shift cable length ifthe gear shift cannot be operatedsmoothly.
