Ion Concentration wasdeveloped for analyzing LSM data. Successful analysis of image data obtained withother systems is potentially possible as well (provided the input meets therequirements for intensity quantification). See full description of tool for details.This Processing function permits the calibration of ionconcentrations in physiological experiments.To open the Ion Concentration tools click Ionconcentration (Fig. 145).The two buttons select the active image in theImage Display as Input Image and Input Image 2 (forbackground subtraction). The name of the automaticallygenerated Output Image is shown under the name ofthe Input Images.In the Preview panel at the bottom of the Ionconcentration tool window, thumbnails of the inputimages as well as a preview of the output image aredisplayed (Fig. 146).After opening the Method Parameters panel fullwindow by clicking the little arrow, the full tool windowopens and the following functions are available(Fig. 147).Opens the display for the resulting calibration curve.buttonsTo load & save calibration curves from / to files.tick boxTo select Input Image 2 as background image.Fig. 145 Processing – Ion concentrationFig. 146 Ion concentration panel
