OSPFv3 Commands 1285area range (Router OSPFv3)Use the area range command in Router OSPF Configuration mode toconfigure a summary prefix for routes learned in a given area. If the area hasnot been previously created, this command creates the area and then appliesthe range parameters. There are two types of area ranges. An area range can beconfigured to summarize intra-area routes. An ABR advertises the rangerather than the specific intra-area route as a type 3 summary LSA. Also, anarea range can be configured at the edge of an NSSA to summarize externalroutes reachable within the NSSA. The range is advertised as a type 5 externalLSA.
