Operation Manual – IP Address-IP Performance-IPXH3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches Chapter 3 IPX Configuration3-4II. Configuring IPX route limitIn IPX, you can configure, in the routing table, the maximum number of the dynamicroutes and equivalent routes to the same destination. These two limit settings areindependent of each other. When the number of the dynamic routes to the same destination address reaches thelimit, new dynamic routes are dropped directly rather than added into the routing table. When the new setting is smaller than the old value, the switch, however, does notdelete the excess route entries. These route entries age out automatically. If the newly configured limit is smaller than the number of current active routes, thesystem deactivates the excess active routes. If the newly configured limit is greaterthan the number of current active routes, the system activates the existing routes thatare equivalent to them until the limit is reached.Follow these steps to configure the IPX route limit:To do… Use the command… RemarksEnter system view system-view —Enable IPX ipx enable RequiredDisabled by default.Configure the maximumnumber of dynamic routesto the same destinationipx routemax-reserve-pathpathsOptionalBy default, the maximumnumber of dynamic routes tothe same destination is 4.Configure the maximumnumber of equivalentroutes to the samedestinationipx routeload-balance-pathpathsOptionalBy default, the maximumnumber of equivalent routesto the same destination is 1.3.2.4 Configuring IPX RIPAfter IPX is enabled on VLAN interfaces, the system automatically enables RIP.
