E-2Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI Cards User’s GuideMigrating With Windows 2000Installing the HostRAID DriverTo migrate the boot channel on a SCSI card from SCSI to HostRAIDwith a Windows 2000 operating system, follow these steps:1 Start Windows 2000.2 Go to the Device Manager by clicking on Start=>Settings=>Control Panel=>System=>Hardware=>Device Manager3 At the Device Manager, click the + sign next to the SCSI andRAID controllers entry to expand it.4 There will be two entries representing the dual channels.Right-click on the channel that you are booting from, then selectProperties.Note: If you are not sure which channel your boot drive isconnected to, change the view of the Device Manager toView Devices by connection, and find out which drives areconnecting to which channels.5 Select Driver, then Update Driver.6 Click Next.7 Select Display a list of the known drivers for this device sothat I can choose a specific driver, then click Next.8 Click the Have Disk button.9 Insert the Adaptec Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. Ifthe CD automatically opens a welcome screen, click the Exitbutton to close it.10 At the Install from Disk window, click the Browse button andpath D:\drivers\windows\win32 (where D: is the CD-ROM driveletter). Click Open.11 Click OK.12 Scroll down the list and select your Adaptec HostRAID RAIDdriver, then click Next.13 Click Yes when the Update Driver Warning message appears.
