2-7Using the Adaptec SCSI Card and SCSI DevicesConnecting the LED Connector(Optional feature) Most computers have an LED disk activity lighton the front panel of the system case. If you choose to disconnectthe cable from the LED connector on the motherboard and connectit to the LED connector on the SCSI card as shown in the figurebelow, the LED on the front panel of the computer will lightwhenever there is activity on the SCSI bus.Note: If you connect the LED cable to the SCSI card, the LEDdisk activity light will no longer indicate disk activity on thenon-SCSI disk drives.Overriding SCSI Termination SettingsYou use SCSISelect to control the termination of the two SCSIchannels on an Adaptec SCSI Card. The default termination settingfor both channels is Automatic. This setting allows the SCSI card toadjust SCSI termination automatically, depending on whichconnectors have SCSI devices attached to them.Regardless of the SCSISelect termination setting, the SCSI cardtermination is always disabled when the power is turned off. If youwant SCSI card termination to be enabled when the power isturned off, you must terminate the SCSI channels manually.LED Connectoron SCSI Card1LED CablefromMotherboardPin 112-pinLEDCable
