142 Function Reference Version: 1.1125 DATA COMMUNICATIONYou can perform data communications by using theFleetSync function or by connecting an external modemor MDT to the transceiver.25.1 Data CommunicationsConfigurationYou can configure the following data communicationfunctions using KPG-89D.• Data• Data Zone-CH/GID• Data CH/GID Dwell Time• Data Transmission with QT/DQT• COM port• Data Override (TK-7180/ 8180 only)25.1.1 DataYou can select the CH/GID to be used for datacommunications or voice communications. Thetransceiver mutes on the Data CH/GID.You can configure the CH/GID to be used for datacommunication using KPG-89D.! Configuration using KPG-89D• Configuring the Data to channel (Refer to FPRG6.3.16 Data.)• Configuring the Data to Group ID (Refer to FPRG6.6.15 Data.)25.1.2 Data Zone-CH/GIDThis function is used to separate the CH/GID for datacommunications from the CH/GID for voicecommunications. The transceiver sends the message after moving to theData Zone-CH/GID configured to the selected Zone whenthe following items are configured and the transceiversends Status Message, Short Message, or LongMessage.• Status Message on Data Zone-CH/GID• Short Message on Data Zone-CH/GID• Long Message on Data Zone-CH/GIDWhen the transceiver completes transmitting, it returns tothe previous Zone-CH/ GID after the Data CH/GID DwellTime expires. You can configure the Data Zone-CH/GID using KPG-89D.! Configuration using KPG-89D• Configuring the Status Message on Data Zone-CH/GID function (Refer to FPRG 6.12.3 Parametertab - Status Message on Data Zone-CH/GID.)• Configuring the Short Message on Data Zone-CH/GID function (Refer to FPRG 6.12.3 Parametertab - Short Message on Data Zone-CH/GID.)• Configuring the Long Message On Data Zone-CH/GID function (Refer to FPRG 6.12.3 Parametertab - Long Message On Data Zone-CH/GID.)25.1.3 Data CH/GID Dwell TimeThis function allows you to configure the delay time fromthe time when the PF DTC port or PF Data PTT port in PFAUX Input port becomes inactive to the time when thetransceiver returns to the Voice CH/GID. This function isused when the external device waits for an ACK from thetransceiver. You can configure the Data CH/GID Dwell Time usingKPG-89D.! Configuration using KPG-89D• Configuring the Data Dwell Time (Refer to FPRG6.15.3 AUX tab - Data Dwell Time.)25.1.4 Data Transmissionwith QT/DQTThis function allows the transceiver to use the QT/DQTconfigured to channels for the data transmission. This function is applicable to Conventional GroupChannels that handle Status/Short Data/ Long DataMessages. This function is also available to make datacommunications using an external device. While the repeater uses the QT/DQT, the transceiverperforms data communications with QT/DQT when DataTransmission with QT/DQT is enabled. It performs data communications without using the QT/DQT when this function is disabled. You can configure the Data Transmission with QT/DQTfunction using KPG-91D! Configuration using KPG-89D• Configuring the Data Transmission with QT/DQT(Refer to FPRG 6.12.3 Parameter tab - DataTransmission with QT/DQT.)
