Version: 1.11 Function Reference 91 BASIC FUNCTION1.13 Battery Saver(TK-2180/ 3180 only)This function allows the transceiver to receiveintermittently in order to reduce power consumption. The transceiver receives intermittently in the followingconditions.• There is no carrier.• When no key is pressed for more than 5 secondswhile there is a carrier and the QT/DQT does notmatch. You can save the battery consumption by extending theBattery Saver time. However, you may miss hearing thebeginning of the received call if you extend this duration. You may have to extend the duration between the timewhen the transceiver transmits and the time you startcommunicating with the receiving party. You can configure the Battery Saver function using KPG-89D. Following is the list of the interval for the transceiverto receive intermittently.Table 1-12 Interval for the Transceiver to ReceiveIntermittentlyFigure 1-5 Battery Saver! In this case, you must press thePower switch to turn the transceiver ON.DisabledThe transceiver is turned ON whenconnecting the power connector regardlessof the transceiver's condition.Configuration OperationModulation LineYou can select the Modulation line to beactivated for the Mic PTT. Below is a list ofthe modulation lines. Normally, only the Micline is modulated.• Mic line (the sound of the Mic located onthe front of the transceiver)• MI2 Line (the sound modulation of the D-sub connector located on the rear of thetransceiver)• DI Line (the data modulation of the D-subconnector)w/QT/DQTYou can configure the QT/DQT configuredto the Conventional Group channel to beoverwritten when receiving with the MicPTT. Normally, you can configure the QT/DQT to be overwritten.w/STEYou can configure the STE (Squelch TailEliminator) to be transmitted aftertransmitting the QT/DQT code configured inthe Conventional Group channel. Normally, you can configure the STE to betransmitted.
