USER’S GUIDE508 CyberSWITCHUSAGE I NSTRUCTIONSTo access the CyberSWITCH using Telnet, you must have a Telnet client software package. ATelnet client software package is built into the CyberSWITCH. With the CyberSWITCH acting asthe Telnet client, simply enter thetelnet address> command to Telnet into the targethost. Refer to the System Commands chapter for a complete listing of available Telnet commands.If you are using a PC or a workstation as a Telnet client, it must have a Telnet client softwarepackage. From the Telnet client package, issue the command that will allow you to connect to theIP address of the CyberSWITCH. You will then be presented with the “Enter Login id:”prompt. Now enter commands as if directly connected to the CyberSWITCH.When finished with the session, enter theexit command at the system prompt to end the sessionwith the CyberSWITCH.Terminate the Telnet session by typinglogout. This will ensure that the Telnet session has beenterminated, regardless of the specific Telnet client used.Notes: If you need to quit then restart the CyberSWITCH for some reason (for example, to haveCFGEDIT changes take effect) issue therestart command. Then reestablish your Telnetsession.If you lose your Telnet connection within 10 seconds of entering therestart command,the command will not be executed.
