Layer 2 Switching Commands 544Link Dependency CommandsDell EMC Networking N1100-ON/N1500/N2000/N2100-ON/N3000/N3100-ON/N4000 Series SwitchesLink dependency allows the link status of a group of interfaces to be madedependent on the link status of other interfaces. The effect is that the linkstatus of a group that depends on another interface either mirrors or invertsthe link status of the depended-on interface. Circular dependencies are notallowed. For example, if port-channel 1 in group 1 depends on port-channel 2.Then the system will not allow the operator to configure another linkdependency group where port-channel 2 depends on port-channel 1.Commands in this SectionThis section explains the following commands:actionUse the action command in Link Dependency mode to indicate if the link-dependency group should mirror or invert the status of the depended-oninterfaces.Syntaxaction {down|up}• down—Mirror the depended on interface(s) status.• up—Invert the depended on interface(s) status.Default ConfigurationThe default configuration for a group is down, i.e. the group members willmirror the depended-on link status by going down when all depended-oninterfaces are down.action –link-dependency group depends-onadd show link-dependency
