USER’S GUIDE150 CyberSWITCHB RIDGE INFORMATION C ONFIGURATION E LEMENTSIP (S UB ) NETWORK N UMBERIf the CyberSWITCH uses an IP RLAN interface to connect to a remote bridge, you must providethis information. This address associates the bridge with the IP network to which it connects. Enter this addressusing dotted decimal notation. This parameter applies to the network-portion of the IP addressonly. Note that if you change the IP address under the IP information menu selection, this parameterwill reflect that change.ENABLE/D ISABLE B RIDGINGYou may enable or disable bridging on a per device basis. You must enable bridging for remoteLAN devices, which indicates that the remote device is a bridge and not a router.M AKE C ALLS FOR B RIDGE DATAYou must enable this element to allow bridge dial out to function. You must also complete thefollowing configuration:• Enable bridging at the system level and at the per-device level.• Either add the device to the CyberSWITCH’s Known Connect List, or configure a bridge con-nection filter. For information regarding the Known Connect List, refer to page 218. For infor-mation regarding bridge filters, refer to page 204.Note: This feature is not yet supported for IPX Remote LANs.IPX REMOTE LAN NETWORK NUMBERIf the CyberSWITCH uses an IPX RLAN interface to connect to a remote bridge, you may choose tochange this information. This parameter associates the bridge with the IPX network to which it connects. Enter the IPXexternal network number of the remote LAN, or accept the default value of none.If this parameter remains none, the CyberSWITCH will assume the network number is that of thefirst configured IPX Remote LAN interface. This is convenient in applications in which remoteLANs consist only of clients (thus no explicit external network address), all of which are on thesame external virtual LAN.If you choose to change this parameter, you must specify the IPX external network number usedon the remote LAN in question. This value must be the same as the value configured for thecorresponding IPX Remote LAN interface.IPX SPOOFING OPTIONSNote: This feature is not yet supported for IPX Remote LANs. Do not attempt to configure.APPLETALK NETWORK NUMBERIf the CyberSWITCH uses an AppleTalk WAN (Remote LAN) port to connect to a remote bridge, you may choose to change this information. This parameter associates the bridge with the AppleTalk network to which it connects. Enter theAppleTalk network number/range (which corresponds to a configured AppleTalk Remote LANport), or accept the default value of none. If this parameter remains none, the CyberSWITCH willassume an association with the first configured AppleTalk Remote LAN port.
