Small Office Remote Access Switch 383PROBLEM DIAGNOSISIPX Routingindicate if it is static (L- locally configured) or dynamically learned via RIP (R). If it is learnedvia RIP, then basic communication between the CyberSWITCH and the local NetWare serveris operational, and it is uncertain why the NetWare server does not respond to the ping request.Contact Customer Support.2. Verify that RIP protocol is enabled by entering the following Mange Mode command:ipxripEnable RIP if it is not already enabled.3. Using theipxnetif Manage Mode command, verify that IPX RIP send and receive control isenabled for the LAN interface.Using CFGEDIT (under IPX network interfaces) enable RIP send and receive control if it is notalready enabled.4. If the route does not exist, or the route is a static entry, then verify that the CyberSWITCH andthe local NetWare server are using the same packet encapsulation. To check the type ofencapsulation, use theipxnetif Manage Mode command. If they are not using the sameencapsulation, then correct it either on the CyberSWITCH or the NetWare server.5. Verify that the CyberSWITCH and the NetWare server are using the same external IPXnetwork number for their mutual LAN (AA for this example). To check the network numberthat the CyberSWITCH is using, use theipxnetif Manage Mode command. If they are notusing the same external network number, then correct the problem.IPX ROUTING OVER THE REMOTE LAN CONNECTIONProblem:The system does not display the IPX messages indicating successful initiation on Remote LANnetwork.Action:Check the IPX network interface configuration. Refer to Configuring IPX Network Interfaces fordetails.Problem:The CyberSWITCH does not recognize a ipx diag packet from the Remote Bridge.Action:Check IPX device information configuration. Refer to Remote LAN Devices for details.Problem:Data is not forwarded from the remote bridge to the router over the Remote LAN interface.Action:Check the configuration:Verify Remote LAN interface configuration.
