Small Office Remote Access Switch 553SYSTEM S TATISTICSIP StatisticsIP S TATISTICSYou can access IP statistics by using theip stats console command. These statistics are parts ofthe IP Group and the ICMP Group MIB variables that are defined in RFC-1213:MIB-II.IP G ROUP S TATISTICSipForwardingThe indication of whether the system is acting as an IP gateway in respect to the forwarding ofdatagrams received by, but not addressed to, this CyberSWITCH. IP gateways forward datagrams,IP hosts do not (except those source-routed via the host).ipDefaultTTLThe default value inserted into the Time-To-Live field of the IP header of datagrams originated atthis system, whenever a TTL value is not supplied by the transport layer protocol.ipInReceivesThe total number of input datagrams received from interfaces, including those received in error.ipInHdrErrorsThe number of input datagrams discarded due to errors in their IP headers. Possible errors includebad checksums, version number mismatches, other format errors, time-to-live exceeded, errorsdiscovered in processing their IP options, etc.ipInAddrErrorsThe number of input datagrams discarded because the IP address in their IP header’s destinationfield was not a valid address to be received at this system. This count includes invalid addresses(e.g., 0.0.0.0) and addresses of unsupported Classes (e.g., Class E). For systems that are not IPGateways, and therefore do not forward datagrams, this counter includes datagrams discardedbecause the destination address was not a local address.ipForwDatagramsThe number of input datagrams for which this system was not their final IP destination, as a resultof which an attempt was made to find a route to forward them to that final destination. In systemsthat do not act as IP Gateways, this counter will include only those packets that were Source-Routed via this system, and the Source-Route option processing was successful.ipInUnknownProtosThe number of locally addressed datagrams received successfully but discarded because of anunknown or unsupported protocol.ipInDiscardsThe number of input IP datagrams for which no problems were encountered that would preventtheir continued processing, but which were discarded (e.g., for lack of buffer space). Note that thiscounter does not include any datagrams discarded while awaiting re-assembly.ipInDeliversThe total number of input datagrams successfully delivered to IP device-protocols (includingICMP).
