Until the magic number option hasbeen negotiated the value must be set to zero.• Discard RequestThe Discard request packet is transmitted by a device to exercise the data link layerprocessing. This packet is silently discarded by the receiving device.WAN FR_IETF T RACE MESSAGESYou can trace Frame Relay (FR_IETF) incoming and outgoing packets. This FR_IETF traceinformation is placed into the Report log, which can be accessed by using thedr command. Enablethis feature by using thewan fr-ietf trace on command, and disable it withwan fr-ietftrace off. You can specify the direction of the packets (in orout), a particular device or PVC( or) and the protocol (AT,BR,IP, orIPX) to be traced.The following is the format of a FR_IETF trace line as it is displayed bydr:[packet direction] : [device name or fr_accessname_dlci] [protocol] size:[NN]where:[packet direction]Indicates the packet direction. IN means received packet, OUT means transmitted packet.[device name or fr_accesname_dlci]Indicates the device or Frame Relay PVC associated with the traced data.[protocol]Identifies the protocol type of the traced data. Protocol types are AT (AppleTalk), BR (MACLayer Bridge), IP, and IPX.[NN]Identifies the size of the data in bytes.X.25 T RACE M ESSAGESIt is now possible to trace X.25 incoming and outgoing packets. This X.25 trace information is placedinto the Report log, which can be accessed by using thedr command.
