USER’S GUIDE358 CyberSWITCHV ERIFYING THE DIAL O UT FEATURETo perform the Dial Out verification for a remote device, you need to know the configured devicename associated with the device’s device table entry. Note that the device name is case sensitive. Ifyou already know the device name, skip to step 4. Otherwise, begin the verification process withstep 1.1. Enter the Manage Mode by typing the following command at the system prompt:>manage2. Enter the following command at the Manage Mode prompt to display the current on-nodedevice table:MANAGE>deviceMake note of the device name for verification of the Dial Out feature.3. Exit the Manage Mode by entering the following command:MANAGE>exit4. The following administrative command is used to verify that the Dial Out feature is operationalto a specific remote device:call device name>For example, to verify that the Dial Out feature is operational for remote device with fred as theconfigured device name, you would entercall device fred at the system prompt.5. A message will be displayed indicating whether or not the call was made successfully. Refer toDial Out in the Problem Diagnosis chapter if the call was not made successfully.V ERIFYING C ALL D ETAIL R ECORDINGThecdr verify console command is used to verify that the Call Detail Recording (CDR) featureis operational. This command will send a sample message to all servers that have been configuredfor CDR. Check the log file of each server to verify that the message was logged. The message willbe similar to the example below; additional data items may be added in future releases. CDR VERIFY 1 of 1In order for thecdr verify console command to be useful, an Ethernet LAN must be operationaland an IP route to all off-node servers must be defined and operational. The command can beperformed before all the WAN equipment is in place and configured.Additional verification can be performed by forcing the logged events to occur and checking thatthey are indeed logged. This would require that all WAN equipment and configuration is inoperational order. The Connect and Disconnect events require a successful connection; a Reject event can be forced bysupplying a bad PAP password, for example. If thecdr verify console command fails for an off-node server, refer to Call Detail Recording inthe Problem Diagnosis chapter.
