SYSTEM MESSAGESOVERVIEWSystem Messages provide useful system information. They are listed in the system’s report log, amemory resident table. To manipulate the report log, use the following commands at theadministrative console:dr ords display reports or display statisticser ores erase current messages/statistics from memorywr orws write reports/statistics to diskWhen the CyberSWITCH writes system messages to disk, it stores them in the following locations:Directory: \logFile Name: rprt_log.nn(where “nn” is an integer from 1 to 10 that is incremented each time a newfile is written.)The system reports messages using the following format:• the Message Type quickly identifies the type of message the system reports• the Time identifies when the message was reported• the Report Number is used by your Distributor or Customer Support• the Message text describes the actual message being reportedThis chapter describes the types of system messages available (for example, informational anderror). It also lists each message individually, with suggested actions to take in the event of an error.Note: Some of the system messages will not appear on all platforms.There is another chapter that is of major importance when dealing with system messages. TheProblem Diagnosis chapter describes the process of diagnosing common problems, (particularly inthe system verification process,) as well as providing possible recoveries.INFORMATIONAL M ESSAGESThe system records informational messages. These are normal events that provide you with currentsystem status.
